Homemade Laundry Detergent
Mar 24th, 2009 by admin2

Have you ever thought about how much money you spend on laundry detergent each year?  The rule of thumb seems to be that larger families + younger children = an insane amount of laundry.

Well, my sister just gave me a homemade laundry detergent recipe.  It is extremely simple and the ingredients are easy to find at any local discount store.  Even better… pennies per load!

Powder Detergent:

-3 cups Borax               -2 cups Baking Soda          -2 cups Washing Soda             -2 cups grated mild bar soap

Mix all ingredients well and seal tightly in a container.  This recipe cleans your laundry as well as any leading detergent without all the extra ingredients and it uses only 1/8 of a cup per full load.  That’s 72 loads!

Hopefully this tip helps you save some Cents & Sanity.

Feel free to leave a comment or post your own recipe for making laundry detergent.
